Well it’s finally happened…
After an almost year-long hiatus, mostly due to a really bad case of writers block instead of any sense of fatigue, I am back with a new book in the works!
That’s right, for those of you sending me fan mail about Drakin, I can say with reasonable certainty that yes, there will be another book!
So what is this one about, you may ask? Well I don’t want to give too much away, but to give you just a nice little taste, the book technically takes place following the events of the Orphans of Haven. So it’s technically between Orphans and Empire of Ashes.
In the early pages of this book, our favorite dragon-girl (I’m actually not kidding about this, the fan mail I get with her as the subject is unprecedented!) Qira is still trying to come to terms with the death of Radley. If you remember, in the final pages of Orphans, Qira leaves for several months to try and deal with her pain. That’s where this book takes place.
Desperately looking for peace, Qira returns to the place of her birth, only to find that there is no peace for her there either. She quickly realizes that the peaceful environment that she called reality was little more than a construct of her father, a lie, and nothing more. As she is about to lay waste to the entire area, she stumbles across a small stack of parchment that has been left for her. Written with claw marks in a style she doesn’t recognize, is yet another piece of her family history that she was not aware of, and a relative that she didn’t even know existed.
This, is that dragon’s story…
I don’t have a release date yet as everything is literally in it’s infancy, but I did want to give my readers, who are either braving Covid or stuck at home, something to look forward to.
Stay safe, stay healthy, read a book!
