Hello all,
Welcome back! Let’s dive right in.
(OBLIGATORY SPOILER ALERT HERE:)
“Hi Jim,
I was wondering if you could tell me what the difference is between dragons and drakeas. Is there any difference?
Thanks,
Jake”
Hi Jake,
The short answer is “no”, there is no difference. The long answer is that it’s a touch more complicated. The race that came to our world and started the Red War was the drakeas, an ancient race that was exiled from their home world on multiple lifeboats, in stasis, after waging a war for racial superiority. What happened to the other lifeboats remains unknown. Did any of the drakeas find other worlds? Are there any that are still alive? Who knows.
When the drakeas landed on our planet, they were encountered by humans in New York. This is what they saw…
They were massive, they breathe fire. What would you call that? Humanity all referred to them as dragons. Following the war, the drakeas leaders, as well as many of their most belligerent warriors opted to leave the planet. The ones that remained opted to try to coexist with humanity and part of that was adopting “dragon” as the human translation of “drakeas”. Some dragons refuse to recognize this, but most do. So that’s really the difference, it’s more ideological than biological.
Readers, if you liked the book, please take a moment and leave me a quick review or if you’re pressed for time, some simple stars will suffice!! I wouldn’t ask, but the more exposure my book gets, the more copies it sells. Word of mouth is everything in this business! Thanks so much, all! I greatly appreciate it!
Thanks, friends! I’ll catch you on the flip-side!
