Cheesy, shades of the 80s… but I’d be lying if this wasn’t a guilty pleasure of mine. I’m old enough to remember the 80s quite vividly and there are days that I find myself willing to give almost anything to be back there again.

When to Listen: This song is pure positive energy. Listen to it when you first start writing.  You’ll blow through a couple of chapters without issue.

      • I’ve trained my kids to be discerning connoisseurs of an eclectic mix of music. My 12 year-old daughter shares my love of the Foo Fighters and other hard rock & metal bands. She discovered Wolfmother a few months ago, and we both really like them.

      • Ah…. I wish I could do that. In my car, we only listen to metal, whereas it’s… what passes for country in my wife’s car. I wouldn’t mind so much if she wasn’t listening to a damn station that plays the same ten songs over and over for months. If I have to listen to Jordan Davis’s “Singles You Up” on the radio one more time, I’m going to go insane.
It’s played like six times a day, minimum.

      • Yuck, man. I love me some good country from the old days up through the late 90s – early 2000s and even some of the purists today, but I can’t listen to top-40 country anymore. It sounds too much like rap & pop.

  1. 80s music is always good for anything creative – writing, cooking, etc. My own 80s playlist is over 600 songs so I am with you there.
